Principles of design..
Dominance or emphasis can give organization to a design and subconsciously improve a design. The dominance of this picture is the red that brings the door out from the rest of the grey house and becomes a warming attractive part of the house and seems to invite you in.
Balance is symmetrical, asymmetrical and radial. Balance is where there are few focal points pulling your focus toward any specific part of the design.
In this building I find that it’s hard to rest on any one part of the building and my eyes are always trying to find a focal point to make the design more memorable.
Contrast is when differing elements such as colour or size create interest into a focal point in the centre of the contrast.
This particular picture brings my eyes to the sharp triangles at the top of the old building because the skyscraper next to it is seemingly uninteresting in contrast.
